Before I was a business owner, I worked a 9-5 (ok, let's be honest... an 8-6). #amiright?
I was the Director of a nonprofit organization. One in Australia, then one in the US.
And I liked my career! I could have stayed there.
A steady paycheck, benefits, changing hundreds of thousands of lives at a time, living on a minimal [but good] income.
Enjoying my time with disadvantaged people filled me with joy.
However.... I LOVE being a coach.
Working Monday-Thursday (taking Fridays OFF to ski or travel), hours usually somewhere between 9-4, sometimes earlier, sometimes later, sometimes more, sometimes less, but always what feels good.
I’m now earning in ONE MONTH what I used to earn in ONE YEAR - for real - even through the pandemic.
I don’t have to worry about taking time off when my kids are sick, and every day can be a vacation day if I want!
But I wouldn’t have gotten the latter if I didn't quit the first.
My non-profit career made me happy, but it didn't keep me fulfilled.
It didn't provide everything I desired.
It kept me comfortable. AND it held me back in my business.
So I quit.
Because it felt right.
Was it scary? Yep.
I wouldn't be human if it wasn't.
It was about allowing myself to LIVE MY PURPOSE. Create my dream life. Take a risk. And reap the incredible rewards.
